Dentures or false teeth are designed to replace missing teeth (from just one tooth to a whole arch) and are held by gum tissue. Traditionally, they have been extractable, but latest techniques can now provide dentures that are secured in place with dental implants, giving greater solidity. Modern-day dentures also cover less tissue, allowing for an improved capability to taste compared to older style dentures.
Dentures are custom made to accommodate your mouth, so they take on the look of your natural teeth. Dr Tarak can copy your current teeth (or photos of what they looked like) to ensure that your denture substitutes look as natural as possible, and most recent technology, including flexible ‘Valplast’ Dentures, allows us to make denture plates that are comfortable and cosmetic.
Valplast Flexible Partial dentures are fabricated without the use of a metal frame – made instead from a strong, durable plastic that snaps securely and comfortably into place around your existing teeth. The plastic used is so strong that the partial made from it can be very thin, eliminating that heavy, bulky feeling that made wearing partials so unpleasant in the old days.
Flexible Partials blend in well with the natural appearance of your gums, making the partial virtually invisible. The plastic has almost a chameleon effect, it is so strong that the partial can be made very thin and so picks up the characteristics of the underlying tissue.
